Hilltop Highlights
- President Jan Wendorf opened the 33rd Biennial Convention of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League in the name of our Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- “God Reigns” was the theme of the sermon preached by Rev. Dr. Warren Schumacher in Opening Worship. He encouraged everyone to , “Turn your umbrella upside down and catch the blessings… open your hands to catch the blessings that flow down from the creator.”
- The Heart-to-Heart Sisters attending convention gathered to hear Dr. Robert Scuderi from LCMS World Missions tell them, “God brought you here as a gift to LCMS and the LWML.”
- Servant Connection participants connected to the hearts of others by finishing Braille books, packing backpacks, assisting veterans, making quilts, assembling personal care kits, writing to missionaries, creating at the Beautification Station, and highlighting Spanish materials. Pam Bridgehouse of Lutheran Latino Ministries said, “This is really getting at the core of mission – getting God’s Word to people in the language of their hearts.”
- Thursday evening's worship service offering totaled $37,039.30! This money will be added to the 2007-2009 excess mites of $82,117.86 to kick start grant payments for the new biennium.
