LEADERSHIP FOR TOMORROW 2004President Linda Reiser proclaimed the Leadership for Tomorrow 2004 event held in St. Louis, MO, November 12-14, 2004 a VICTORY! "Victory wasn't a result of what we did, but how God brought together His gifts of leadership, hearts for mission, love of service and women who were called and chosen for His purpose. "Tremendous event" "I feel energized and informed" "My leadership skills have been enhanced" - These were some of the comments made from attendees. A new format was utilized and districts were challenged to bring future leaders, young women and those who had never attended a similar national training event. The GOAL was to raise up God's Own Amazing Leaders within our 40 LWML districts. The 120 district attendees represented over 6 generations of women who came to build on their leadership gifts. >From small group sessions with hands-on experience, Q&A, interaction and networking to group singing, Bible Study, worship, speakers, entertainment and training, these leaders were immersed in opportunities to improve on their leadership skills. Over half of the 181 women at LFT were attending a national LWML training event for the first time. At least twenty of these women were under the age of 40, with 18 of them having been recent Young Women Representatives to an LWML Convention! The attendees will now develop a plan of action to implement and impact women in their districts with similar training. These district training sessions will be held over the next 2 years by the 3 attendees who attended LFT from each district. LWML, the church and our communities will be impacted in the future by these women with their enhanced leadership skills. The LWML acknowledges Thrivent Financial for Lutherans for their financial grant to assist in making this event possible." Linda K. Reiser, President PRESIDENT REISER TO REPRESENT LWML AT TOURNAMENT OF ROSES PARADELinda Reiser, president of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League will represent the organization in the annual Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, on Saturday, January 1, 2005.
