LWML e-News #35 LWML & GoodSearch As we open this February edition of LWML e-News, let us remember our commitment to pray with our sisters in Christ every Monday at noon. This month as we come before the Lord, we give thanks for the many gifts and talents the Lord has given each of us and ask how we may use them in His kingdom. Dear Heavenly Father, You are the God of talents. Thank you for the spiritual gifts You have given to me. Thank You for the talents and abilities with which I have been blessed. Give me the desire to be a participant and not a spectator with those gifts. Help me to be an example to others as I learn to know and do Your will and work as Your faithful servant. Use me for Your purposes, not for my successes. Help me keep in mind the mission work of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League as I serve each day. Direct me with courage to those who still do not know of Your love and salvation for them. As I prepare to enter each day, keep me mindful of the sacrifice of Your Son for my sins that I might live eternally with You. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.   Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:23-24 NIV). It's even possible to add GoodSearch to your Internet browser's toolbar. Follow directions on the site to install. Tell your friends and happy searching! LWML BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEET IN ST. LOUIS The LWML Board of Directors met in St. Louis on Jan. 27-29 where they had the opportunity to worship at St. Timothy and Titus Chapel at Concordia Seminary with President Dr. Dale A. Meyer as the Proclaimer. The weekend also included a tour of the LWML exhibit at the Concordia Historical Institute. Another highlight of the meeting was a surprise gift of $3,555 presented to Louisiana/Mississippi District LWML President Marcia Wittenburg by LWML President Linda Reiser. Since the Louisiana/Mississippi District has faced so many challenges after enduring two hurricanes, members of the LWML Board of Directors brought monetary gifts individually and from their districts to help them meet their  2004-2006 biennium mite goal. These gifts exemplified the team spirit and unity of the LWML. THE LUTHERAN WOMEN'S MISSIONARY LEAGUE The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML), with a membership of over 250,000, is the official women's auxiliary of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The LWML focuses on affirming each woman in her relationship with Christ to enable her to be in ministry among the people of the world. For over 60 years the LWML has been encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to financially support global mission.
