LWML Prepares to ROCK

Gathering "Together in Prayer Every Monday at Noon" is a special time for each of us. Instead of rushing around in the busyness of the fall season, let us remember to be still before our Lord, listen to what He is saying and then do whatever He asks of us.

In repentance and rest is your salvation; in quietness and trust is your strength. Isaiah 30:15 (NIV)

Lord of my life,

I praise You, Lord, for Your continued faithfulness in my life and for Your Word that gives me hope and comfort every day. Your blessings surround me like a warm blanket on a cool fall day as I snuggle in the comfort of Your love.

Help me to slow down today, seek Your will in Your Word and find rest for my weary soul. Let me be still and listen instead of always talking. Remind me that it is all right to be still and go to a quiet place, just as You did when You were here on earth. Help me to remember that "quiet" time is as important as "doing" time. When I am strengthened by being in Your Presence, show me where You would have me serve You each day. In Jesus' Name, Amen

MAKE NATIONAL CONVENTION PLANS

Prairie schooners probably won't get you there, but you should be booking planes and automobiles (and definitely chartered buses) to attend the LWML convention in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, June 21-24, 2007! Plans to carry out the theme "ROCK! Rest On Christ the King" are solidly moving forward with on-site servant activities for the King's Servants for Thursday, June 21. At the opening Communion Worship Service on Thursday evening, Rev. Dr. Dean Nadasdy, LCMS 2nd Vice President, Sr. Pastor at Woodbury Lutheran Church, Woodbury, Minnesota, will serve as worship proclaimer. Stay tuned for more and visit www.lwml.org.

PRECIOUS JOURNEY CONTINUES

Twelve committees and task forces came together in St. Louis for their second Precious Journey at the 2007 Interdepartmental Meeting in October. The group, guided by the Executive Committee, met to make plans for the 2007 convention in Sioux Falls and to continue working toward completion of projects and activities for the biennium. Look for great new products and resources in Sioux Falls!

GOODSEARCH NEARS $2,000

As more and more LWML members are using GoodSearch to search the internet, mission funds are benefiting. We know that "mites" can be mighty, and now with thousands of searches made each month and a penny given to missions for each search, we've raised almost $2,000! Please visit www.goodsearch.com and type LWML under "I'm supporting" to participate.

MISSION GRANT UPDATE

Sept. 30 marked the 18-month point or 3/4 of the way through the biennium. Mites received at that point totaled $1,135,877.30 or 70% of the biennium goal of $1,625,000.

Now that all 40 districts have completed their conventions, it is exciting to report that approximately $100,000 in offerings and special activities at the conventions were designated to mission mites -- TO GOD BE THE GLORY! For more information, visit the Mission Grants Web page at http://www.lwml.org/mission/index_mission.html
