Sunday morning's invitation: "All children are invited to the front of the church for the children's sermon." The march begins. Children of all sizes, holding hands, skipping, walking quickly or escorted by a parent, take their places. The teacher begins the lesson. "Jesus" is always the favorite answer for every question. The children pray with folded hands, bowed heads and little voices of confidence. Loving Jesus seems pretty simple and easy!

Somewhere between 4 and 104 something happens! Does loving Jesus seem as simple and easy as it does to these children? Have we filled our lives with so many things that we have forgotten the joy of knowing Jesus and sharing Him with others?

After attending district convention after district convention this summer, I am convinced I have seen a lot of childlike faith! In all these convention experiences, I have seen, over and over again, the joy of women in Bible study, growing through His Word.

This spiritual growth results in women mentoring one another. I have witnessed it in what I have heard shared at these convention gatherings. Women, young and old, shared how someone mentored them. It is that mentoring that is so childlike! It is so simple, so easy, yet we often think we don't make a difference.

As a woman of God, you have been given a gift to share. You have shown that "Jesus" is still the favorite answer! Why do you come to LWML? Why do you invite others? Why do you share the opportunity to be in mission and service with other women? It is because you have learned what it means to love and to serve-and you can't help but share what is important and meaningful to you Jesus!

Childlike? Easy? Simple? I have heard the stories! What a joy! You have been the servants! Women across our districts are benefiting from you sharing your story and being a mentor to them as Lutheran Women in Mission. Invite them, watch them run and skip. Bring them hand in hand. Encourage them. Continue to share why knowing Jesus and serving Him through the LWML is important in your life! You do make a difference!
