The Lutheran Women's Missionary League is a cohesive patchwork! We are different ages, different backgrounds, different ethnicities, different languages and different sizes, but we are connected in our purpose, support of missions and our faith.
For women, connecting means tapping into an incredible sisterhood-for prayer, for Bible study, for strength and support, for new ideas and fellowship. With families spread far and wide, LWML can offer an intergenerational experience. Participation in a zone Bible study, district retreat or convention can provide a special opportunity to deepen our relationships with God and with each other. There are many ways to be involved in a church, but working together as a community of women, supporting our mission grants through our prayers and gifts has been, and continues to be, the "patch" and the purpose that strengthens our LWML fellowship. The role of the Christian women's organization is still vital and important. The Lutheran Women's Missionary League has continued to grow, evolve, respond and adapt. It is time to take another look at and appreciate the vibrancy of this organization. No matter what age, no matter what stage of life or how busy you are, there is some aspect of involvement in the LWML that will speak to you. Just as patches pieced together form a patchwork quilt warming the person using it, the warmth of LWML comes through the opportunity to serve and to share the gifts God has given us. LWML women are stitched together to form the LWML All Star TEAM. Each of you is a star on the LWML Team because we are Sisters in Christ, Teamed for missions, Active in prayer and service because we are Redeemed by Christ. Linda K. Reiser, President |
