Lutheran Woman's Quarterly Summer 2004

From the editor

"Oh, sisters, what colorful and wondrous quilts we are!" writes Christian Living editor, Judy Wiedenkeller in her column on page one of this issue. How skillfully she sets the tone for our theme, "Patchwork of People." Diversity, interdependence, unity all are reflected in the patchwork of a quilt and in the women God sews together in His family.

Read about women who reach out to others with respect, kindness and concern as mentors, care-givers and friends. Learn in the Bible studies how kindness is a fruit of the Spirit, how Christians use words to help-not hurt, how the tender touch of Jesus is reflected in the ways we touch the people in our own lives.

Note how LWML touches the lives of all kinds of people through mission grants. Respond to the Readers Call. And finally, share the article in Spanish with Spanish speaking sisters eager to learn ways to mentor one another in LWML. Celebrate being part of the "patchwork!"
