Heart to Heart Sisters-A cross-Cultural Gathering for 2005-$50,000

LCMS churches have women of diverse cultures, many of whom do not participate in LWML. Heart to Heart Sisters is a deliberate effort to include more ethnic women by offering scholarships to attend the national convention in 2005. By celebrating the leadership of ethnic women in the LCMS, a collaborative spirit can be developed to carry the Gospel more effectively to the many ethnicities coming to this country.

This grant will provide scholarships for ethnic women who have never been to a national LWML convention. Later it will fund a cross-cultural summit that will bring key ethnic women leaders together to develop and implement strategies to encourage ethnic women in leadership as well as to promote their participation in LWML. Printed materials will also be made available in several languages to encourage the nurturing of ministry to women by women.
