Lutheran Woman's Quarterly Winter 2004

From the Editor ...

Late summer hurricanes, tornadoes and floods...early winter blizzards, frosts and freezes...is there anywhere on God's earth safe from storm and strife? We've all been touched by stormy weather and stormy periods in our lives.

This issue of Lutheran Woman's Quarterly addresses the storms of life we all face. Just as the sun on our cover breaks through the storm clouds, so also the love of God in Jesus, our Savior, floods us with warmth and hope. Authors in this issue tell their stories of hope.

In feature articles you will read how others faced

disability, danger, frustration, even the possibility of death, with courage and strength that comes from God's Word. You will also find several helpful resources for coping with the storms of life.

Be sure to read the inspiring answers you, the readers, wrote to our Readers' Call: "How do you find peace amidst the storms of life?"

Bible studies will encourage you as you explore Scripture.

Don't miss President Linda Reiser's column and Mission Grant Report!

And finally! Pull out the center section of the magazine for full information and reservation forms for the 2005 LWML convention in Tampa next summer! You won't want to miss it! "Ivan" and "Jeanne" may have battered Tampa, but it will still be there when thousands of LWML women "storm" the city in June 2005, ready to spread "salt" and "light" as they share God's love.

Donna Streufert,
Editor-in-Chief
