Heart to Heart

Forty women speaking nine languages learned more about LWML at the second Heart to Heart pre-convention gathering. Women representing African American, African Immigrant, Hispanic and Hmong cultures listened to concerns, encouraged each other and planned activities to strengthen their Christian communities. During Thursday's activities, hand-crafted heart pins were traded by new LWML sisters. A commissioning service concluded the activities with each Heart to Heart member promising to continue the excitement and new knowledge with their congregations.

Angelina Gomez shared the powerful impact the Heart to Heart program has had on her life and the lives of many ethnic women. She told how her participation in Heart to Heart at the 2003 convention led to the formation of a Hispanic LWML society in the Pacific Southwest district. Angelina Gomez
