Make a Difference! "Show the world you are God's people by making a difference in this world," encouraged Rev. Dr. Paul L. Maier, Friday afternoon's keynote speaker. How desperately our world needs us to be salt and light, Maier explained. We live in a culture that wants to be accepting of all kinds of religious thought-except Christianity. We live in a society that readily absorbs all sorts of spiritual books, except the Bible. How can we make a difference? By standing firm in our faith, by speaking the truth in our individual spheres of influence. Maier challenged us to live out the goal statement of this convention: "Knowing I am the salt and light, I will live joyfully for Christ and let my light shine."
