Mission Speakers
Migrant Ministry
In a white truck purchased by an LWML mission grant, Connie
Sikkema brings hope and Christ's love to migrant workers in the
Tampa Bay area. Connie's church, Messiah Lutheran, provides children's
clothes, shoes and school supplies, blankets and food, first
aid education and Bibles. One day while delivering blankets to
migrant workers during a steady downpour, Connie noticed about
20 men waiting patiently. When she sadly told them she had run
out of blankets, the men replied they were not waiting for blankets
but for copies of the Gospel of John in Spanish.

Ministering to Chinese
From 17 generations of bondage to new life in Jesus Christ,
Rev. Tich Hoa Luu is a testimony to the power of God's mighty
grace. Born into a Buddist family in Vietnam, he fled from his
war-torn country. While in a refugee camp, he was adopted by
a Lutheran church and, through loving support of LWML women and
others in the congregation, he became a Christian. Rev. Luu has
now graduated from Concordia Seminary. He and his wife, Michelle,
have ministered to students at Southern Illinois University.
He is currently serving at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Rockville,
Maryland.

Rev. Donald Treglown
It's not surprising that the prayers of an LWML mission-minded
mother and aunt resulted in a son who joyfully served as a missionary.
That son, Rev. Donald Treglown, served in the Philippines for
14 years with his wife, Joanne, and continues to support Philippine
Christians through training church leaders. Treglown currently
pastors Faith Lutheran Church is Naples, Florida, and considers
himself part of the LWML family.

enough pastors. So Rev. Claude & Rhoda Houge work in five
countries in eastern Africa to train lay leaders. Many women
are being trained and are ministering to other women in their
