LCMS President Rev. Dr. Gerald Kieschnick

 Start Some Fires

"Make your life a mission, not an intermission," LCMS President Rev. Dr. Gerald Kieschnick challenged LWML members. He reminded us of the vision of the LCMS: "We have a calling to be together in one mission, that is to seek the lost for Christ. We have one message, that Jesus is Savior of the world. We are one people, united by God's love in Christ." To help further this end, he presented President Reiser with a $3,600 check from LCMS Council of Presidents toward the 2005-2007 mite goal.

To set the world ablaze with the Gospel, we each need to commit to a single critical event: When one faithful Lutheran Christian gives witness to Jesus of the hope that is within him or her to another person so that person may encounter Christ. "What will be your role in fulfilling the one vision?" he asked. "It is time to set the world ablaze. It is time to start some fires."
