From my Window ... I See Someone

seedlings photoWhat do you see from your window?

Your muddy backyard, an empty swing set and jungle gym,
flower beds waking up from winter?
Farm fields with a hint of yellow-green misting the surface?
Snow-capped mountains?
The sunlight reflecting on an azure blue ocean?
Does the view from your window include your neighbor?

"Who has time to gaze out the window?" some women may complain.

"I'm so busy rushing to work, to school, to meetings, on my way to church, getting through my list of errands and chores! I have little time and energy to focus on scenery-much less, people!"

Yet, isn't that what we are called as Christians to do?

The folks we encounter every day deserve more than a glance or a hurried "hello."

Christ values each one-knows their names and paid His life for their sins.

Let's think not about what we might see from our window today, but the person we might see-

the lost, the lonely, the stressed, the bored-even the hostile, perhaps-someone God has drawn into our day for His purpose and His plan.

Let's offer a prayer, a smile, a kind word. Jesus will find His way into the conversation.

Let's open our windows wide and see what happens.
