Do you remember going to a 3-D movie and wearing those unique glasses? Was it the glasses? Was it the movie? We all know the glasses gave the appearance of depth to the screen so the movie truly was "different" and possibly more realistic than the regular movies of that same era.

Those movies truly had more depth and seemed more "alive" when viewed through 3-D glasses. Today, it doesn't take a special pair of glasses to see the 3-D impact that exists in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

The 3-D of the LWML focuses on three words: daily, dedicated and difference.

Daily women are praying for our mission grants and the hope that is shared by our missionaries. Women are dedicated to using their God-given talents in service and love to others. Lutheran Women in Mission make a difference when they give their "mites" to support mission grants that make it possible for the love of Jesus to be shared with women, children and men around the world.

"You made a difference in my ministry."

"Your love and support were priceless."

"I love the LWML."

"The LWML was a tremendous blessing to us."

"May God continue to bless your mission focus."

"The women's hearts are full of love for others as evidenced in their financial gifts year after year." ... and so it could go on and on.

These comments I was privileged to hear on your behalf at the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Missionary Alumni gathering in July 2004. Many of these LCMS career missionary couples benefited from your 3-D vision! They appreciated and were uplifted by your prayers. Their ministries were blessed by your grant gifts and their family lives were impacted by your daily, dedicated focus on making a difference!

Today the 3-Ds of the LWML are still needed to impact our world. In a world of clouded vision, your 3-D impact is necessary as we support mission efforts in Thailand, the Philippines, Guatemala City, Latvia, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, outreach efforts in the USA and many others. Your daily prayers and your dedication in support of the mission goal are sorely needed-so lives can be changed by the power of the Spirit through the gospel. As a Lutheran Woman in Mission, you can share that clear vision; you can support the sharing of the Gospel message through your continued 3-D thinking and giving with your Mite Box ^TM offerings.

Enjoy the vision of the world around you through your LWML 3-D lens. Be daily dedicated to making a difference!
