Kiswahili New Testament - Braille $54,411 In Africa, blind people in Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda are in need of the New Testament in Kiswahili Braille. Lutheran Braille Workers, the only organization in the world producing Kiswahili Braille, has the volunteer force ready to produce the New Testament for the blind in Africa. One thousand copies would be sent to the Bible Society of Kenya and 2500 volumes to schools and individuals throughout Africa. Often the blind in Africa face a lonely life. Who better to fill the loneliness and darkness of the blind than Jesus Christ? This grant of $54,411 enables Lutheran Braille Workers to share the light of the Gospel by producing the New Testament in Kiswahili Braille. |
Lutheran Blind Mission has established nearly 50 outreach centers that support the isolated blind and visually impaired, demonstrating Christ's love for them by teaching Braille, computer skills, resumé writing, and other job related skills. They hold Bible studies to proclaim the Good News of sins forgiven and life eternal in Jesus. A grant of $32,000 enables the directors and assistant directors of these outreach centers to meet in a conference setting and learn from each other how to best serve those who come to their centers. |
