Let's Pray

Lord Jesus, sometimes it feels as though I’m all alone in the world. I often think that I’ve been singled out for pain. I’m convinced that no one hurts the way I do or suffers the way I
suffer. Like the ten lepers, I cry out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy
on me!” Answer, as You always answer, with words of life. Allow me to see through eyes that have been cleansed, hear with ears that have been healed, and show mercy with a heart that has been forgiven. In Your Name. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for giving me the gift of salvation in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Your own Son, Jesus Christ, the Babe of Bethlehem. Forgive me when I sin. Forgive me when I see the spiritual and physical needs around me and do not act to relieve them. Forgive me when I fail to see those same needs and miss the opportunity to serve. Send Your Holy Spirit to help focus my eyes on Jesus so that I may see the world around me with mission eyes and proclaim Your love and grace. In the great Name of Jesus, I pray Amen

Reflections

Here I am again, God. It’s me, M. One of my brothers is slowly losing his sight, and I pray you will be with him and comfort him at this difficult time. His struggle has made me aware of what a great blessing my good eyesight has been — I need glasses only for reading. Even though my physical eyesight has gotten a little worse, my ability to see you has improved. I
have learned not only to see how much you truly care for me as my Savior, but also how you care for me in this world. It was a hard lesson to learn. Please forgive me for being a slow learner, especially during those years we lived without a steady income — never knowing for sure what the next source would be. Whenever funds ran very low, I would panic and cry out esperately to you. After many years, I finally stopped pushing the panic button, trusting that you would answer my prayers. I thank you for always providing all that I have and continuing to open my eyes to your faithfulness.
