LWML LOVES TEENS
Friends Into Serving Him groups are forming all across the nation and the women of LWML couldn’t be happier to be “serving the Lord with gladness”….with teens!

Here are some ideas that Friends Into Serving Him groups can use to share their love with those around them this spring. Use one or use them all! And if you have great ideas of your own, please let us know. Email them to dephc@lwml.org
Servant Activities
Finals Care Packages
Send care packages to your congregations college students for their spring semester finals. Possible items to include are microwave popcorn, candy, trail mix, a devotion or prayer book. (Perhaps the LMWL “A Woman’s Praying Heart” book available in the catalog.). Be creative and be sure to include a personal note to keep it special.
Thank you gifts for Sunday School or Lutheran Dayschool teachers
A small pot of annual flowers or homemade snack can make a thoughtful “thank you” to the teachers in our congregations. Here is a possible poem to include:
You’ve studied many Saturday nights,
Getting our lessons set and just right.
You’ve told us of Jesus and His love,
And our future heavenly home above.
Thank you for the love you share,
With all the children in your care.
MITEy Ideas
Plant Swap
Invite women from your congregation (or community) to bring cuttings from their perennial plants and swap with others for a free will donation for your group or Mites. Be sure to share God’s word at this event. A Bible verse on an index card can easily be attached to a plastic fork and pushed into the soil.
Snacks
Fruit Pizza
Start with a pie crust baked flat on a cookie sheet. (About 10 minutes at 450 degrees) Let cool.
Spread cream cheese on the crust and let the fun begin.
Supply grapes, berries, kiwi, bananas, and even coconut. Pizza can be made to look like a face, a mosaic design, or the Friends Into Serving Him logo!
Flower blossoms
Large refrigerator biscuits and jelly are all you need.
Cut biscuits as shown. Add jam to the center and bake as directed. A fun quick treat!

You’ve had a good workout. Take a few deep breaths and sit down once more. Listen to one final verse that will provide strength for each day of your life:
…the God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory in Chirst, will Himself restore, establish and strengthen you. To Him be the dominion for ever and ever (I Peter 5:10-11).
Scriptures taken from several translations. Adapted from a devotion by Edna Haeder, 1984.
It’s in the Box
Place a mirror in a box. Write “God’s Love” on the box. Everyone form a circle, and give them each a paper and pencil. Say: Sometimes we feel lonely and unloved. During hard times, we wonder if God really loves us. Well, inside this box is the one thing you need to receive God’s love. On your paper write what you think that one ting is. Discuss answers. Open the box. Pass around the box without speaking. Then read aloud Jeremiah 31:3 and Romans 8:38-39. The only thing you need to receive god’s love is you! You can come to him just as you are, because he loves you for who you are. So when you look in the mirror, you see who God wants-YOU!
