Blessings from the HOPE Committee! District conventions are
completed and the 2003 national convention was over a year ago!
It is our hope that your experience with the Lutheran Women's
Missionary League has been rewarding and life changing! You are

YWRs and District Conventions
You have been there, you know what I mean! What compels over
five hundred (500) young women to participate in an event during
the summer of 2004 that many of them have never heard of? What
kind of experience do they have?
This is exactly what happened this summer at LWML District
Conventions. Over 500 young women have attended, many for the
first time. You and I both know how your first impression can
be that of amazement at the mission focus of the Lutheran Women's
Missionary League. As I have had opportunity to speak to them,
many are excited about what this organization does. Some have
talked about starting a new group, others have said they are
active in their local group and others know it may be awhile
before they can actively participate in a group but they are
interested in individual membership.
What does this all mean for the future? I believe that if
God puts it in your heart, it can be done. I believe that God
has allowed many young women this summer to have a life-enhancing
experience at an LWML District Convention as they have witnessed
service, joy, hugs, fellowship, being in the Word, prayer and
fun! May God continue to encourage your heart and your service
as we, together, serve the Lord with gladness!

Not a Coincidence!
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers
for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership
in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of
this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to
completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1:3-6
Paul is expressing his love and gratitude for his Christian
friends in Philippi. As I read this, you, the YWR came to my
mind. A year or more has passed since you attended an LWML Convention
as Young Women Representatives, I encourage you to remember the
excitement and spiritual renewal of your experience. It is not
a coincidence that you were selected, Christ has a plan for you!
In faith, seek guidance by prayer and His Word; at the proper
time He will reveal it! The following Scripture passages are
given to encourage you and give you insight. May the grace of
the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit!
...for it is God who works in you to will and to act according
to his good purpose.
Philippians 2:13
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but
in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you
should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests
of others.

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious
riches in Christ Jesus.
