- Janice (Jan) Wendorf was elected president of the LWML and will serve in that capacity for the next 4 years. Other officers elected were:

- The Saturday morning session opened with the Parade of Past Presidents and the flags of 38 nations where LWML grants have been given. They were carried by Young Woman Representatives for each district. LWML grants have been given in 50 countries.
- LWML President Linda Reiser, in her final report to the convention, asked "Has the LWML been successful?" Her answer . "Yes, the LWML is strong, vibrant, relevant and successful because of God's great faithfulness to us!" She encouraged each LWML woman to have clarity of Christ-focused vision about her service through Gifts from the Heart, servant activities, pledge walks, offerings, mites and prayers for missions.
"The best is yet come. We can make a difference!" stated President Linda as she urged each woman to find her "spot" as she witnesses about the Good News of Jesus Christ by starting a Teen LWML, encouraging women to learn more about the LWML, inviting an MMV consultant, sharing LWML products or considering a leadership position and/or estate gift.
- LWML Treasurer Louise Rickey reported the 65th Anniversary offering on Friday was $57,268.50. This offering, combined with the donations sent in earlier for this special offering, totals $82,175.41. These gifts have been designated by the Board of Directors as 30% to the Endowment fund and 70% to LCMS World Mission for Missionary Children Education.
- Rev. Dr. Robert M. Roegner, Executive Director of the Board for Mission Services (LCMS World Mission), said “Big Thanks, LWML. Rev. Roegner congratulated the LWML on its partnership with the
LCMS World Mission in reaching out
with the Gospel of Jesus Christ into
the world.
- Reverend Roegner introduced the Scheiwe family who spoke about their
work in Asia: supporting a school hygiene
project, village doctor training,
village drinking water project, pastoral
training center, and summer volunteer program for English education.
- Susie Loofe of Neligh, Nebraska, won a trip to Panama in the LCMS World Mission drawing.
- About 1,500 walkers - a "sea of blue" - participated in the two Mission Pledge Walks on Saturday. More than $75,000 in pledges were raised for the walk, with more still coming in!
- The offering taken for seminary aid at both Fort Wayne and St Louis totaled $47,831.54. However, as with the other offerings, checks designated for the offerings were sent in prior to Convention and will be reflected in totals given in upcoming issues of e-News.
