February 2008 DEVOTION
Muslim Outreach and Education in Bangladesh $75,000

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matt. 28:19 (NIV)

LEADER: We begin in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

ALL: Amen      

LEADER: Jesus told his disciples to go to the people of all the nations and make them His disciples. People of the Book Lutheran Outreach (POBLO) International is motivated by the passion for the lost to reach out to Muslims with the love of Christ.

ALL: Lord, bless the ministry of POBLO.

LEADER: In Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. The school that POBLO builds will educate as many as 700 students a year and open the door for the spread of the Gospel message. Many girls who have been unable to attend school will be given the opportunity now to receive an education.

ALL: Lord, bless all who are involved with the construction of the school and those who will teach the children.

LEADER: Only one percent of the people in Bangladesh are Christian. The goal of POBLO is to bring the Gospel to Muslim people. Christian education will provide an understanding of the message of hope and everlasting life through Christ.

ALL: Lord, open the hearts of the people who hear the Gospel message. Raise up Christian leaders among the Muslims and establish Christ-worshipping communities among them.

PRAYER: Almighty God, we thank and praise you for the mission of POBLO as they minister to Muslims in Bangladesh and throughout the world. Endow them with love, patience and understanding to persevere in their ministries. Reveal Jesus as the Way, the Truth and the Life to those who hear the Gospel. Strengthen the faith of new converts. Open the doors of Muslim nations where the Gospel cannot be proclaimed freely. We pray in the name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen
