Beverly England Named New Public Relations Director

ST. LOUIS, MO-The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) announces the appointment of Beverly England as Public Relations Director for the nonprofit organization based here in St. Louis. England will serve a term of two years, representing the organization at conventions and gatherings, and disseminating news about the league's mission grants and service projects.

England's experience in the LWML on the national level includes chairman of the HOPE Committee and she served on the Leader Development Committee. England currently serves the Oklahoma District LWML as Vice President of Servant Resources. As District Vice President, she is the coordinator of the Leader Development Committee, Young Women's Representative (YWR) Committee, By-laws Committee and Special Gifts Committee. England has also been trained in the Mission-Ministry Vision (MMV) program and serves as MMV consultant in and around Oklahoma. She has also served as District Planner/Facilitator and has served on District Convention Planning committee and just completed serving as Personnel Resources Coordinator for the national LWML convention in Oklahoma City.

The organization relies on the volunteer efforts of women all over the country, keeping only a small staff at its headquarters to coordinate the production of the league's many outreach and inreach materials. England can be contacted at the address noted above in Tulsa.

Lutheran Women Disburse More Funds Toward 2001-2003 Mission Goal

ST. LOUIS, MO-The Lutheran Women's Missionary League recently disbursed $135,070 to five mission grants that were part of the $1,156,261 mission goal that funded 20 grants in 2001-2003. The women of the LWML are now focusing on the new mission grant goal of $1,575,000 to fund 14 new grants in 2003-2005.

Six of the 14 grants focus on overseas missions and ministries in areas of the world that are in desperate need of hearing the Gospel message. Eight other grants focus on domestic ministries and will provide assistance to immigrants and ethnic groups here in the United States.
