LWML Christmas Cards are "Sealed with a Cause"

ST. LOUIS, MO - Go tell it on the mountain - through the mail and everywhere - that Jesus Christ is born! The holiday season is quickly approaching, and so is the time to send glad tidings to all. The new Lutheran Women's Missionary League Christmas card is the perfect way to share the joy of the Savior's birth with friends and family both near and far.

Recently, the striking four-color card was featured in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, which has a daily circulation of about 300,000. The newspaper highlighted the LWML card in a large display package about holiday greeting cards "sealed with a cause" - ones benefiting groups that raise money to help others.

Take the "sealed with a cause" challenge: Try to get your local newspaper or other media to feature the new LWML Christmas card, as well as the mission of the LWML, so that people in your community can spread the good news that Christ the Savior is born. Not only could they benefit from the cards, but they could also learn something about Lutheran Women in Mission.

Designed by LWML member Judy Newell, the card features an elegant watercolor wash depicting Bethlehem and the star. Ten cards come in each $5 package (#16520). Along with Christmas cheer comes a great deal: Buy 30 packages for $100, a savings of $50. The cards can make a great fundraising project for societies, zones and districts and are also perfect for personal use as well as gift-giving.
The front of the card says "Good News, Christ the Lord, a Savior, for all people" written around the image of Bethlehem. Inside in calligraphy is: "With the angels and shepherds in
Bethlehem, let us praise our Heavenly Father and share the good news of our Savior's birth."
Also, a Bible verse is written on the left side: "Unto us a Child is born; Unto us a Son is given. Isa. 9:6."

Another way to commemorate Christ's birth is with the new pewter LWML Christmas ornament, depicting the true meaning of Christmas with Mary and Joseph kneeling down by baby Jesus. The ornament (#10050, $10) makes a great gift or addition to your own tree. The back is dated 2005.
