Week of August 28 - Special Focus Ministries
Welcome to the Department of Special Focus Ministries. Although the name is new, our purpose is not. We will intentionally focus on ethnic women, young women, and teens. Following is a list of the specific areas of this department:
The Heart to Heart Sisters Committee will motivate, equip, and ensure opportunities for women of diverse ethnic groups to serve the church, witness to the world, and produce and facilitate the Heart to Heart program for the LWML convention.
The Committee on Young Women will develop resources for young women supporting their involvement in the mission of the LWML on district and national levels and produce and facilitate the Young Women Representative program for the LWML convention.
The Friends into Serving Him® Task Force will develop resources for LWML districts to support teen and pre-teen girls in their involvement in the mission of the LWML

Week of August 14 - Your Strong Suit
Lutheran Women in Mission have a passion for digging into the Word of God together. It’s our mission inspiration!
Coming this October is a new DVD-based Bible study, Your Strong Suit. Written and taught by Donna Pyle, and filmed before an audience at Salem Lutheran Church, Tomball, Texas, the series is based on Ephesians 6:10-18. The set comes with eight lessons on two DVDs and an 85-page, color print workbook. Use it in many different ways, as a retreat study, in your women’s Bible class or at homes in small group settings that could open the door to non-churched friends and neighbors, enabling them to study God’s Word. Week of August 7 - Start Strong to Finish Strong
This biennium LWML has pledged to provide funding for 19 mission grants in at least 21 countries around the world. Some grant recipients will share Christ's love by providing treatment for malaria and malnutrition, safe homes for orphaned and disabled children, and spiritual and physical food for the impoverished. By God's grace, ministries to Native Americans, missionary families, and youth will build them up in their faith in Christ. Newborns, prisoners and people who are hurting will have a chance to hear about the saving grace of Jesus Christ and experience His love.
What can you do to help? Pray often and give often. Check out our giving the past three months by clicking on Mission Grants and scroll down to Mites Received. Examine the printable monthly update to see how "mightily" the 4,660 women and men who attended the LWML convention in Peoria contributed to our mission goal. We have started strong. Let's keep the momentum going every month!
