EXPECT VICTORY

This devotion reminds us to expect victory over sin, death and the power of Satan. It assigns Bible verses and phrases to each letter of the word VICTORY.

(Seven Women hold up cards with the letters spelling victory. The Scripture verses could be printed on the backside of each letter.)

INVOCATION: We make our beginning in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and
of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

OPENING HYMN: He's Risen, He's Risen, Christ Jesus, the Lord (TLH 198; LW 138)

MEDITATION:

V is for Victory 1 Corinthians 15:54b-57
I is for Immortality 2 Timothy 1:10
C is for Conquerors Romans 8:35 & 37
T is for Triumphal Procession - 2 Corinthians 2:14
O is for One Man Romans 5:12 & 15
R is for Ransom and Redeem Hosea 13:14
Y is for Yes! Expect Victory!

(Victory Cheer Optional) (Each woman holds up her letter card as the cheer is given.)

Give me a V
Give me and I, etc.
What's that spell?
(All) Victory!

PRAYER: (spoken in unison)
Lord Jesus, as One Man you have conquered sin and death and won the victory over the power of Satan. Be with us as we go about Your tasks, especially today as we discuss the work of the LWML Lutheran Women in Mission. Give us grace that we may equip and are ourselves with the light of Your Word as ransomed and redeemed servants; and in the last day, may we rise to life immortal and join the triumphal procession to be with You forever. Amen.

CLOSING HYMN: Jesus Lives! The Victory's Won (TLH 201; LW 139)
