Safety is a Priority for the LWML Lexington Convention
The LWML Board of Directors (BOD) is aware of the seriousness of the COVID-19 virus and has taken steps to limit its impact on the upcoming convention, which is still planned as an in-person event. The official capacity of Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, is 20,500. Given the size of the arena, social distancing will not be an issue. The LWML has considered all aspects of the convention and has protocols for each event and every situation, should they be necessary at the time convention attendees meet. All guidelines issued by state and federal authorities will be followed.

The LWML Convention Programming Committee has developed safety precautions and protocols for registration, servant activities, exhibits, delegate seating, worship, meals, offerings, and the Winner’s Circle Celebration. Many of those attending may have had vaccinations by convention time. As things continue to change and develop, detailed updates will be shared as convention time draws near.

Many districts are planning to travel by bus, which is an enjoyable and cost-effective choice. LWML encourages each district to take all necessary steps to ensure a safe trip. It is suggested that each district consult with local and state health officials and their transportation company to assure that LWML is following safety guidelines.

As Christians, we all know that God is in control. He guides us in our plans, preparations, and decisions. The LWML BOD will seek His guidance and wisdom as they move forward with plans for a convention that centers on Christ.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

Help | Love | Grow and Endure
Through LWML's Gift of Love Ministry

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) has continually been a group overflowing with generosity, grace, and encouragement. Lutheran Women in Mission love to serve and give in meaningful ways so that others can experience the life-changing message of Jesus’ love. LWML is not limited to this generation. Think of our mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, and dear sisters in Christ of earlier generations. The LWML we know and love today is built on the foundation laid by these dear women over the past 79 years.

We are standing on the shoulders of LWML giants in the faith who have left their legacy for this generation! Through charitable plans put in place through our Gifts of Love Ministry, LWML donors have equipped their organization to carry forward the Mission of Christ, by the grace of God, to make an enduring impact. LWML’s Gifts of Love ministry can help you to honor and share the gifts God has given you for the sake of the Gospel and bless your family as well. Did you know you can continue your mite offerings from heaven?

Lois Anderson

Here is what Lois Anderson of Twin Falls, Idaho, says about Gifts of Love: “When I heard a presentation about the Gifts of Love Ministry, I was amazed at the impact thoughtful gift planning could produce. I now have a gift plan that will bless my family and also the ministries that are near and dear to my heart, like LWML, because our LWML Gift Planning Counselor walked me through the process, step by step. What a comfort this is to me and my family, knowing my wishes will be carried out and my gifts will continue to extend God’s kingdom.”

nullBruce and Gayle Caruso

Gayle and Bruce Caruso of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, said: “We didn’t know so many options were available to us to bless our family and ministry for years to come until we worked with an LWML Gift Planning Counselor. Gifts of Love really helped us to walk through the planning process prayerfully and joyfully. This is truly a valuable ministry service LWML provides.”

Please consider a gift to LWML’s Gifts of Love Ministry to carry the Mission forward through the ages. Click here to donate in honor of Lutheran Women in Mission who have served the Lord with gladness through the years. Act now! Help | Love | Grow and Endure. Your gift will be matched through Valentine’s Day! Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel!

But since you excel in everything — in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you — see that you also excel in this grace of giving (2 Corinthians 8:7 NIV).
