Bethesda’s Kristine Leonard Shares Video Links

Sharing her passion for bringing Christ to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Kristine Leonard, Senior Director of Transition Services/Director of Bethesda College at Bethesda Lutheran Communities Watertown, Wisconsin, shared a presentation as a Mites in Action speaker at the 2021 LWML Convention in Lexington. Bethesda was a recipient of the 2017–2019 LWML Mission Grant — Sharing Jesus with People with Disabilities for $100,000. Through videos, Kristine described the impact the grant made on people served by Bethesda.

Many have asked for access to these videos which display the amazing work God does in the lives of people with disabilities. Kristine happily shared those links. She said, “As you can tell, I am very passionate about God’s kingdom being for all, and encouraging churches and groups to welcome those with disabilities.”

LWML Appreciates Sponsoring Organizations

There were many organizations which helped make the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) 39th Biennial Convention a huge success.

LWML had many sponsors for various events and activities. The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) Foundation sponsored the President’s Dinner on Wednesday night. The Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) supplied convention tote bags. A major sponsor of the Tee Up 4 Mites Golf outing was Lutheran Federal Credit Union. Thanks to the LCMS Offices of National and International Missions for sponsoring the Presidents Assembly mission luncheon. LWML also thanks Lutheran Hour Ministries for their gift of 30 four-piece communionware sets crafted by Hickory Tree Studio, Bloomington, Indiana. The entire list of sponsors can be found on page 108 of the convention manual or by clicking here.  To God be the glory.

LWML Sunday Resources Available Now

Our hearts in HIS hand — Above all, keep loving one another earnestly (1 Peter 4:8).

A familiar face to many, Dr. Dale A. Meyer, president emeritus and professor emeritus of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, is the author of the 2021 LWML Sunday Materials. He retired in 2020 after 15 years as Seminary president. Meyer has been speaking and preaching for more than 40 years. His areas of interest and study include 1 Peter, the church in a changing culture, and the Sabbath applied to life today.

We celebrate this LWML Sunday together as the Body of Christ under the theme, “Our Hearts in HIS Hand.” Learn how the Lord has worked through the LWML to bring the lost and the erring into fellowship with Him through mission and ministry. To download these materials, click here.
