West Tennessee Zone Rally Service Projects

Faith Lutheran Church in Collierville, Tennessee hosted the Mid-South District West Tennessee Zone fall rally on Saturday, October 20, 2018. After our business meeting and opening devotion, we focused on our service projects. Using Thrivent Action Team grants, we bought and collected materials for four service projects:

  1. Fleece blankets for Lutheran World Relief.
  2. 150 school supply kit backpacks for the Lutheran World Relief Care-A-Van.
  3. Soup in a jar, with ingredients to make homemade soup. These jars were sent home with each congregation to be given to shut-ins, new moms or other homebound people.
  4. Scripture tag booklets for inspiration and encouragement.

Paint the Planet Purple – What does this mean?

Paint the Planet Purple with Servanthood

The official colors of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League are purple and gold. Purple, symbolizes royalty, and gold symbolizes value and integrity. The vision of the LWML is to recognize that each woman is welcomed and encouraged to use her unique God given gifts as she supports global mission and serves the Lord with gladness.

When you use your gifts to serve God, “Jesus’ love in action,” you are spreading the word of Christ around the world. You are painting the planet purple!

We would like you to share with us where, what, when, and how you have shared “Jesus’ love in action.” The Gospel Outreach Committee would love to hear about and share your mission servant activities! Please contact us through the LWML email at depgo@lwml.org. Thank you.
