About This Mission Grant
Camp Restore Detroit (CRD) is a ministry serving in the northeast corner of Detroit. Their goal is to partner with the community to restore neighborhoods and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They have established and seen growth in programs that focus on combating issues around poverty, homelessness, abuse, and broken families. There is also a focus on comprehensive youth mentoring and a training initiative. Overall, Camp Restore works to offer a safe, supportive environment where youth and young adults can transform their lives through mentoring, vocational training, life skills education, and spiritual care.Â
Specifically, the next step is to create a comfortable dedicated space where youth can receive tutoring, participate in Bible studies, plus access essential resources like laundry facilities and showers.Â
This grant will be used to renovate a building, cover construction costs, and purchase furniture for this next phase of outreach in the community.

Four of the youth in the Academy traveled with the mentors, Anthony and Noel, and our Executive Director attended Best Practices in Phoenix this last year. We were able to meet Vice President of Gospel Outreach Karen Morrison while there! The youth were able to be leaders and share with everyone they encountered!

Children from our community working in the Little Blue House, learning literacy skills, learning about God, and building relationships. This is an example of how we have turned the power of mites into God's love in action!
Northern Wisconsin LWML came out to visit Camp Restore in Summer 2024! It was a great afternoon. When Anthony, the youth program director, realized the work was a bit much, he called on the students in the academy who showed up immediately and helped finish the project!
Youth in our academy cleared a total of 40 lots this summer! It was hard but rewarding work! Each youth saved enough money to buy a used car and learned the skills to become leaders of the team!
The vocational training academy learned to build a deck! Just a week later, this deck held dinners for the community and volunteers for over 50 people! It was a wonderful experience and incredibly special knowing these young men built it!
