A part of The Time is NOW pledge you agreed to on the LWML website says, “…I am committed to helping LWML make an impact on the next generation! I am dedicated to … caring for my sisters …”

As Lutherans we can’t help but ask, “What does this mean?” It’s as easy as … observing! Often a kind word or a gentle question or a smile can open the door to building trust with our sisters in Christ. Take notice whether your sisters are happy or sad. Intentionally rejoice with them in the good times and share in their sorrow during hard times. A hug and a prayer are often the first step on the road to Christian friendship. Care and then share!

I’m a writer. I write birthday and anniversary dates on my wall calendar, fill my monthly calendar with meetings, events, and appointments, and regularly update grocery, prayer, and To Do lists. I write so that I remember and to keep myself accountable.

This week I’m challenging myself to write something new. I’m going to add someone to my prayer list – the name of a woman in my congregation. Then I’m going to add something to my To Do list – personally invite her to help me with a local LWML mission project.

Do you value encouragement from others? Encouragement from fellow Christians can uplift and give support in the day-to-day activities of life. You can encourage others by sharing your faith in your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as sharing your joy in serving Him through the LWML and its many opportunities.

Does a special woman in your life need encouragement? Perhaps you could share:

I am so happy that you are my Christian friend! I rejoice in the saving work my Savior has done through His perfect life, suffering, and death – all for me and you. I live in the hope of eternal life in heaven with my Savior. The LWML offers me a welcoming place to share my joy in Jesus through Bible study, fellowship, and service. Identify those who need encouragement in your life. Make an opportunity to encourage them today. Take 1 Thessalonians 5:11 to heart: Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. The Time is NOW!
