The season of Advent is a little like a treasure hunt. We have the same anticipation in our hearts as we prepare for the coming of Christ. As children we looked forward to opening presents on Christmas. But now we look forward to Christ’s return and our heavenly reward of eternal life through Him. Life is much different that a child’s game and it is easy to get distracted – to quit searching for our treasure. That is why the season of Advent is a great time to focus our hearts on Christ.
Today I thought it would be fun to go on a different type of treasure hunt. It is a Biblical treasure hunt. Each of you received a little gold bag that contains the clues and a Bible which holds our “treasure.” Let’s go through them now, beginning with the gold bag itself.
