Your Mites in Action Have Ongoing Impact

nullRecently on her Facebook page, Journey with Jana Inglehart, missionary to the Dominican Republic Jana Inglehart shared the following post by the LCMS Missions in Latin America & the Caribbean: Foro partners, missionaries, seminarians, Dominican church workers and friends are gathered in our beautiful new Mercy Center (built with a grant from the LWML — Thank you dear ladies!) to hear about the mission work in the Dominican Republic.

In her January-February Newsletter, Jana reported that on February 25th, Lutherans from across Latin America, The United States, and Canada gathered to dedicate the new church and four classroom school in Licey, Dominican Republic. Three people were baptized, Alliance Missionary Pastor Sergio Fritzler was installed, as well as nine seminary students.

Lutheran Women in Active Mission:
District Conventions are coming!

nullMembers of the LWML Missouri District Board of Directors recently met for final planning of their 2018 district convention with the theme, “He Knows Your Name.”

LWML district convention preparations are underway! All 40 LWML districts will join in convention from April to September 2018.

nullLWML On the Move at the Best Practices for Ministry Conference

Near the end of February, LWML President Patti Ross, Vice President of Special Focus Ministries Kaye Wolff, and Heart to Heart Sisters Committee Chairman Melissa Salomon presented a break out session and hosted an LWML exhibit table at the Best Practices for Ministry Conference.

nullTheir session, “Embracing the Gifts of Multicultural Women,” looked into the changing makeup of the LCMS and offered insight from experienced women leaders about how to navigate cultural cues and value, uphold, and mentor multicultural women in the local church.

nullnullAt the LWML exhibit table, Patti, Kaye, and Melissa were able to share with hundreds of people about LWML and have meaningful conversations with the men and women who visited the LWML table. Several expressed wonderful comments such as, “LWML helped put me through Seminary,” and “you women really keep your focus on what is important — spreading the Gospel.”
