God is present! Prayer is powerful!

In the Word

For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them (Matthew 18:20).

Of the Word

Have you ever helped with a community project or volunteered to help someone in need after a natural disaster? Did someone come forward and offer a group prayer at any time during the work? Was there a prayer of thanksgiving after the work was completed? Prayer can become a powerful tool at times like these.

Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them (Matthew 18:19–20).

Have you ever wanted to offer prayer in a public setting, but felt timid, afraid or even unwilling to express your faith in such a public way? Remember God the Father is there to give you strength; the Holy Spirit is there to guide you; Jesus is there to support you. How can you go wrong?

Walking with my Lord

Dear Lord, help me take my personal prayer life and expand it into the outside world. I know it will not be easy the first time I try to pray aloud with others, but I know that the Holy Spirit will guide me and that You will understand the meaning of my words. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
