About This Mission Grant
Lutheran High School of Greater New Orleans is the only Lutheran high school in the LCMS Southern District. Its mission field is a city that has a very diverse population with many disadvantaged people. Its mission is to provide quality body, mind, and spirit education to its students and to equip them to make disciples for Christ.
Extensive repairs were made to the building after Hurricane Ida’s devastation to the school in 2021. Some renovations were made with the physically handicapped students in mind, and the one handicapped student is greatly benefitting from the Gospel focus of the school. The school’s goal is to seek out and enroll more handicapped students and make improvements to make the school more accessible.
This grant will fund the purchase of five handicapped-accessible wheelchair desks, two lunchroom tables, two automatic door openers, handrails, and a walkway from the school to the church.
