Wind and fire are part of our daily lives. A gentle breeze can bring relief from a hot summer sun. Fire heats our homes and cooks our food. That is all good. But maybe you have had to leave your home with only a few belongings because a forest fire was burning nearby. Maybe you have lived through a hurricane, a tornado, or a fierce winter storm driven by the wind. Maybe you have lost your home or the life of a loved one to the destructive forces of wind or fire. Though they provide wonderful benefits, wind and fire can interrupt, threaten, or even take our lives. What can we learn about God and ourselves by looking at the references to wind and fire in Scripture?
