Mustard Seed Daily DevotionGetting Ahead

In the Word

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57

Of the Word

What is said to be true of a large percentage of students going into medicine, law and business?
They cheated to get ahead in school.

It is frightening to think that the doctor performing our next surgery may have cheated to get into medical school. Can we truly trust our tax preparer or the person making our will? If we cannot trust even people in those positions, who can we trust? Ever wonder that?

There is One who has no need to cheat. He knows everything. He even knows how many times we have cheated or lied or done any other sin, but He still loves us. He hates our sin because He knows how much sin hurts so He died on the cross to save us. But He is no longer dead. He is alive and no cheating was done to accomplish that! No one came to sneak Him out of the tomb. But God raised him from the dead (Acts 2:24a).

God promises that we, too, shall live if we trust in Him. Just as He raised His Son from the dead, we can trust Him to do the same for us. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).

Walking with my Lord

My Lord and My God, when I am tempted to lie or cheat, remind me that I am Your child. Help me to be honest and fair in all I do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
